๐ DAILY BIAS
๐ด BEARISH
Price is stuck in a grind below $4,180 and daily moving averages are pointing down hard. Gold peaked at $5,597 in January and has shed 26% since. The medium-term trend is bearish and this week's consolidation above $4,073 doesn't change that.
๐ฅ BREAKOUT WATCH
Eyes on $4,180. That level has rejected gold twice already and sellers are stacking there again. Clean daily close above $4,180 opens a run toward $4,220 and then $4,300. Bulls need a catalyst bigger than peace talk headlines to make that happen.
๐ PULLBACK WATCH
$4,000 is the floor. Lose that on a daily close and this gets ugly fast with $3,940 opening up next. Bulls have defended it so far but the daily chart gives them no room for error. Watch it like a hawk Monday morning.
๐ฐ WHAT'S MOVING GOLD TODAY
Reports of US-Iran peace talks in Qatar hit the wires Friday and drained the safe-haven bid that had been propping gold up mid-week. Oil is still up over 7% on the week from Strait of Hormuz disruptions, keeping inflation fears and Fed rate hike bets hot. The dollar held above 101 all day and bulls had nothing to work with.
โ ๏ธ WHAT TO WATCH TOMORROW
Markets are closed Saturday and Sunday. June CPI hits Monday, July 14 and that's the number that matters most right now. Core inflation already running at 4.2% - a hot print kills the $4,000 floor and re-opens $3,940. A soft print is the only thing that gives bulls a real shot at $4,180.
๐ ECONOMIC CALENDAR
June CPI: Monday, July 14 - highest impact event of the week. June PPI and Fed Beige Book follow on Tuesday, July 15. July 29 is the FOMC rate decision - every data point between now and then feeds directly into that call.
