๐ DAILY BIAS
๐ด BEARISH
Gold bounced hard off $3,983 but it's still trading below all major daily moving averages. The 20-day SMA sits at $4,296 and the 200-day at $4,473 - both are overhead dead weight. One day of dollar weakness doesn't flip a four-week downtrend.
๐ฅ BREAKOUT WATCH
Eyes on $4,150. That's where the daily SMA cluster and prior structure converge. A clean daily close above that and $4,268 opens up fast. Buyers need a macro trigger to fuel that move - PCE alone doesn't cut it.
๐ PULLBACK WATCH
$4,000 is the floor. It's the single most important level on the daily chart right now. Lose it and this correction extends toward $3,933 with nothing in between worth talking about. Bulls have to defend it every single session next week.
๐ฐ WHAT'S MOVING GOLD TODAY
PCE inflation came in broadly in line at 4.1% for May, killing fears of an even hotter print. Dollar sold off for a second day and gold caught a $62 bid off the $3,983 low. But the bigger picture stays bearish - the Fed held rates at 3.50%-3.75% last week with a hawkish lean, and markets are still pricing three hikes this year.
โ ๏ธ WHAT TO WATCH TOMORROW
Monday brings ISM Manufacturing and the week is stacked with JOLTS and the June unemployment rate. A hot ISM or strong labor print kills the PCE relief trade instantly and puts $4,000 back under pressure. Don't let Friday's bounce turn into a blind long.
๐ ECONOMIC CALENDAR
ISM Manufacturing drops Monday morning - first real test of the week. JOLTS follows Tuesday, then June unemployment rate later in the week. Any beat on labor or manufacturing flips the rate-hike odds and guts the $4,000 floor.
